Round Table for international cooperation in vocational education and training

GOVET is the Secretariat for Round Table discussions on international vocational education and training cooperation, which take place at regular intervals at State Secretary, departmental and working group levels. The aims are to implement the international vocational education and training cooperation strategy of the Federal Government from a single source and to bundle the expertise of the various stakeholders.

Round Table for international cooperation in vocational education and training

Federal ministries, institutions with links to government bodies, implementation bodies, federal states, chamber organisations, the social partners and various other agencies, associations and organisations involved in international VET cooperation all participate in the Round Table. This means that the Round Table acts as a kind of clearing agency, at which joint issues are discussed and agreement is reached with regard to further approaches to be adopted. In this way, a rapid, comprehensive and binding response can be given to all relevant enquiries, particularly from abroad. This strengthens Germany's role as a competent contact and cooperation partner in issues of international vocational education and training cooperation. The opportunity to identify synergies for national stakeholders at an early stage and to benefit from the experiences of others is also a positive side effect.
