German Diversity Day 2026 - #DDT26
The BIBB celebrates German Diversity Day 2026 by once again raising the rainbow flag and bringing diversity to life through a range of activities. Under the motto “When diversity wins, we all win,” employees come together to show their commitment to an inclusive and respectful workplace.
On German Diversity Day (DDT) on 19 May 2026, the BIBB once again demonstrated its commitment to diversity by raising the rainbow flag in front of its office building for the third consecutive year, this time by Human Resources Manager and Diversity Officer Ralf Gerber. Under this year’s motto, “When diversity wins, we all win,” the flag-raising was attended and celebrated by interested staff members.
German Diversity Day, initiated by the Diversity Charter, is being observed nationwide for the 15th time this year to highlight diversity in the workplace. The day of action is once again being used as a platform to give organizations, companies, and individuals the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment. The BIBB signed the Diversity Charter back in 2007, thereby voluntarily committing ourselves to promoting diversity, combating discrimination, and creating an inclusive work environment.
The BIBB is carrying out the following activities for #DDT26:
- Discussion forums & informational posts
- Release of a video on the linguistic diversity of our employees
- Joint raising of the rainbow flag
- Release of the 2026 Diversity Quiz from the Diversity Charter
- Setting up a global bulletin board in the lobby to showcase the employees’ places of origin
Through these activities, we are collectively sending a visible message of diversity and respectful coexistence—together, we are shaping a workplace where diversity is not only recognized but actively embraced.
