Social Media Netiquette of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training
To ensure that everyone feels comfortable in our social media community, we place great importance on respectful interaction and the responsible use of content. For this reason, we have defined the following values and rules of conduct for our accounts. Please take these into account if you wish to actively participate:
- Substantiate your statements. Both facts and quotations must be correctly identified as such, and the source or author must be named.
- Avoid accusations and unsubstantiated claims. Allegations, suspicions, or claims without evidence will be hidden, especially if defamatory or damaging to our institution. The same applies to defamatory or otherwise criminal content, which we may report to the authorities.
- Stay on topic. Comments should be relevant to the subject of the original post. Comments consisting solely of links will be hidden. We encourage dialogue with both the editorial team and other users. Links or GIFs without commentary do not contribute to meaningful discussion.
- Respectful dialogue. We welcome different viewpoints, as long as they do not insult or harass other users, individuals, groups, or organisations. Unobjective or offensive remarks have no place here.
- No discrimination. We do not tolerate posts or images that are discriminatory or defamatory on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, religion, culture, origin, or physical condition.
- Respect rights and privacy. No copyrights or personal rights may be infringed. When posting comments, be mindful of your own personal data and never disclose personal information about others without their consent.
- No advertising or spam. Advertising, calls for donations, and links to petitions may not be distributed here.
We reserve the right to hide posts that violate this netiquette. Where possible, we will explain why we consider this necessary. In the event of repeated violations, we also reserve the right to exclude users from our channels.
Additionally, the community guidelines of the respective platforms apply.
Users whose comments have been hidden or deleted, or whose accounts have been suspended or blocked, may informally request the reason for the action. To do so, please contact our social media team by email or via the messaging function on the relevant platform. We usually respond promptly on working days.
Enjoy reading, sharing, and discussing on our accounts!
