BIBB at the 2018 “didacta” education trade fair in Hanover

05/2018 | Bonn, 25.01.2018

VET “live” – ask questions, join the debate, get involved

The “didacta” trade fair will be held in Hanover from 20 to 24 February 2018, and the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) will be on hand to present comprehensive information on current issues relating to vocational education and training and on ongoing research and development work. Experts from BIBB will be available at Stand F112 in Hall 13 to answer questions and provide advice on topics such as support for VET staff, securing a supply of skilled workers, the internationalisation of vocational education and training, and the Federal Government’s Vocational Orientation Programme.

The contact partners manning the stand will also include experts from the various programmes, initiatives and projects being pursued at BIBB:

  • German Office for International Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training (GOVET)
  • The JOBSTARTER plus funding programme
  • The Education Chains Initiative
  • National Agency Education for Europe at BIBB
  • Office of the Continuing Education Grant Programme
  • Year of Science 2018 – “Working Worlds of the Future”

GOVET at BIBB is also acting on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to organise a specialist international networking meeting involving partners from China, India, Mexico, Russia, the USA and South Africa which will focus on the topic of “Qualifications for tomorrow – opportunities and challenges for vocational education and training”. This two-day event will also include a public panel discussion entitled “Around the world – quest for new qualifications” to be hosted on Friday 23 February.

BIBB’s Office for Transitions to Training and Work (“überaus”) will be in attendance on Saturday 24 February to provide information about its own particular learning area. The www.ueberaus.de portal features a “learning box” which contains a multitude of interactive offerings for teachers looking to help young people move from school to the world of work. The core of the presentation will consist of mathematics educational exercises and learning applications for memory training, all of which trade fair visitors will have the chance to try out for themselves.

Specialists including experts from BIBB will also be in attendance at a “Vocational education and training forum” (Hall 13, Stand F104, directly adjacent to the BIBB stand) to be hosted by the Didacta Educational Association in conjunction with the Educational Media Association. A wealth of practical ideas and tips will be delivered by means of interviews, podium discussions, workshops and one-to-one meetings.

A detailed programme for the Vocational education and training forum is available at http://www.didacta-hannover.de/veranstaltung/forum-berufliche-bildung/FOR/81504 (German only)

The BIBB team is looking forward to meeting you in Hanover!
