Professional Background

Chengming Yang is a Postdoctoral fellow supported by the 2019 Sino-German (CSC-DAAD) Postdoc Scholarship Program.  He has gotten the doctor degree on vocational and technical education from Beijing Normal University in June 2019. His doctoral thesis mainly focuses on "How to reform and innovate the model of talents cultivation in higher vocational college for the background of 4th industrial revolution". During the doctorate-studying period, his research works concentrate on the vocational education development and reform policies in China, the professional development of Chinese higher vocational college teacher and the quality construction of European apprenticeship.

Basing his doctoral thesis, Yang is researching the reform strategies of German higher vocational education in the background of "Industry 4.0" from the perspective of international comparison. The research questions mainly include: 

  1. What are the new changes of industry and work in German in the background of the "Industry 4.0", and what are the new characteristics of skill demands in this context?
  2. How to develop and construct the new specialty?
  3. How to transform the new technological knowledge and management regulation of enterprise into the curriculum of vocational colleges?
  4. What are the feasible enlightenments for the model of talents cultivation reform and innovation in Chinese higher vocational college?

As a world-renowned research institute, BIBB has a large number of famous experts who studying the different fields of vocational education and training, which maintains close contact and deepen cooperation with so many companies and organizations as well. The rich resources and research data will provide a great help for his research program. Additional, the key works of his department include: the effects of "Industry 4.0" and digitization of the world of work on vocational education and training, international vocational training counselling, the curriculum development and training design.
