BIBB goes remote
Corona heroes and business bankruptcy: Is vocational education and training crisis-proof?
The first digital re:publica took place on May 7, 2020. Following the motto "ASAP re:mote", experts spent a day discussing current social discourses on four TV channels. President Prof. Dr. Friedrich Hubert Esser answered questions on behalf of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
The impact of the Corona pandemic on the labour market and vocational education and training is serious. Hundreds of thousands of trainees are forced to work from home - shortly before their final exams. Apprenticeships seem to be at risk, the supply of skilled workers uncertain. In this interview, BIBB President Esser answers questions about the current "systemically relevant" issues and challenges in the Corona crisis. From the diagnosis to risks and side effects to the hope for a speedy recovery.
The whole interview (in German) is now available on the BIBB YouTube channel with subtitles in English, Russian and Spanish.
