Delegation from the Indonesian Embassy Visits BIBB
The Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy and his delegation visited the BIBB offices in Bonn to learn more about Germany’s dual vocational training system. They also exchanged views on BIBB’s advisory work in Indonesia. It was a lively and stimulating discussion throughout.
On Friday, 13 June, Mr Fajar Wirawan Harijo, Chargé d'Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy, visited BIBB accompanied by his Cultural Attaché and the heads of the Press and Culture Departments. The purpose of their visit was to gain deeper insights into the dual system and explore BIBB’s ongoing activities in Indonesia. The visitors showed great interest in how the system operates in Germany and were especially impressed by the strong engagement of German companies. The vibrant exchange of ideas even sparked initial plans for future collaboration.
The BIBB team shared its expertise from advisory projects it has been implementing on behalf of BMZ and GIZ since 2019. These projects focus on governance structures, the development of a vocational education and training strategy, and – currently, in particular – on curriculum development for a sustainable economy.
The next meeting between BIBB and the Indonesian Embassy is already planned: On 3 July, a group of BIBB trainees will visit the embassy in Berlin as part of their educational trip. They will speak with embassy staff about current topics related to Indonesia and German-Indonesian cooperation.
