BIBB and GIZ coach NIVT in developing VET Report 2015

In frame of the cooperation activity between the National Institute of Vocational Training (NIVT) / General Directorate for Vocational Training (GDVT), the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam of Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH the Coaching Session was jointly organised at NIVT office in Hanoi from November 9th-11th, 2016. The first draft of the VET Report Viet Nam 2015 was discussed with BIBB experts Mr. Michael Schwarz and Dr. Sandra Liebscher and GIZ staff. The cooperation partners have closely accompanied the development of the report since the kick-off workshop in April 2016, which was attended by numerous national and international stakeholders and experts.

During the coaching session questions concerning research methods, data collection and analysis, technical matters, the structure of every chapter as well as the common thread and guiding theme were discussed. NIVT highly appreciated the specific suggestions and recommendations for enhancing relevance and quality of the chapters from BIBB being in charge of annual TVET reporting in Germany, as well as from GIZ experts being aware of the TVET realities in Viet Nam. Based upon the recommendations, the cooperation partners agreed upon specific points being subject to revision in the final wrap-up session. At the end of the Coaching Session, Dr. Vu Xuan Hung, Director of NIVT, expressed his gratitude to the BIBB experts and GIZ staff who offered their support as sparing partners for NIVT staff in order to enhance quality of the Report 2015. On behalf of the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam of GIZ, Ms. Britta van Erckelens, Deputy Programme Director thanked NIVT and BIBB for the excellent cooperation and offered further content-related GIZ support during the finalization process of the TVET Report 2015.
