During his research stay, Dr. Pakseresht conducts a comparative study of vocational education and training (VET) coordinating bodies in Iran and Indonesia, specifically Iran's High Council for Technical, Vocational and Skills Education and Training (HCTVSET) and Indonesia's National Team for TVET Coordination (TKNV). Of particular interest is whether these formally similar coordinating bodies function similarly or differently in practice, and how differing socio-economic and institutional arrangements shape their respective coordination outcomes. The study asks why these bodies took the specific institutional form they did, and how their day-to-day practice compares to their formal mandates.
