Open Access at BIBB
Straightforward and free access to publications is vitally important for academia and for practice. The Open Access publication model provides many benefits in this respect. The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training therefore aims to actively support Open Access for vocational education and training and VET research.
What is Open Access?
The basic principle of Open Access is to make publications available free of charge and in a way that is unencumbered by barriers. Their use and further dissemination should be possible in a straightforward and legally secure manner. The Creative Commons licence model (CC licenses) is generally used for this purpose. In this way, Open Access provides many benefits for authors and readers. In particular, Open Access publications enjoy wider dissemination than publications which are not freely accessible.
