ReferNet is a European information network for vocational education and training. ReferNet was initiated by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) to react to the increasing demand for information on vocational education and training. ReferNet teams exist in all 28 EU states as well as in Norway and Iceland and include representation from relevant VET institutions and organisations.
The task of ReferNet is to collect and spread information and data about current developments in the field of vocational education and training (VET) and educational research.
The objective of the network is to describe and reflect on the different systems of VET in Europe, to facilitate a continuous scientific exchange and to collect and disseminate information for national and European policy and research actors as well as other experts and interested persons. The information and data serve as basis for initiatives and processes on European level.
Common report structures make it possible to compare the different national vocational education and training systems and political developments in the EU member states.
