Interactive labour market data

QuBe Data Portal enables projection data to be presented both graphically and in tabular form

The aim of the project, which has been jointly implemented with the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), is to provide a long-term overview of the anticipated development of labour supply and demand. The new QuBe Data Portal now provides a powerful tool enabling analyses to be prepared and displayed interactively by qualification and occupation on the BIBB website.

Interactive labour market data

The QuBe Data Portal is a web based database application which allows projection data to be compiled and presented both graphically as infographics and in tabular form. Its purpose is to illustrate the results of the BIBB-IAB qualification and occupational field projections (QuBe) and show possible development pathways for labour supply and demand.

The QuBe baseline projection examines the question of what would happen if current patterns of behaviour continued and remained unchanged. The aim of the QuBe baseline projection is therefore to identify, at an early stage, imbalances occurring over the long term. By comparing alternative development pathways with the baseline projection future shocks and shifts in trends can be visualised. Such an alternative development path is described by the “Economy 4.0” scenario. This scenario examines the issue of what impact a more intensive and rapid digitalisation of the overall economy would have on the German labour market.

The baseline projection and the Economy 4.0 scenario can be accessed by occupational fields, qualifications or requirement levels, and both supply and demand can be differentiated and compared by persons or by hours of work. The results of database enquiries are presented in tables, dynamic diagrams (infographics) and maps.

Easy export options also exist. For example, the prepared data can be downloaded in various file formats (SVG, PNG, HTML, CSV) for further use. Your own analyses can also be accessed again and shared via a special link.
