The guests were particularly interested in gathering information and assessments on the central governance structures of vocational education and training. The BIBB's role and structure, the involvement of the social partners in the organisation of vocational education and training, the reasons for companies' willingness to provide training places and BIBB's international cooperation were the main topics of discussion.

The visit is part of the state’s endeavor to offer young people a more attractive alternative to higher education after completing their secondary education. Currently, vocational education and training fails to meet this requirement. New approaches and model projects are being planned due to high drop-out rates in the higher education sector and increased youth unemployment - compared to the extremely low unemployment rate. Elements of vocational education and training in Germany seem appropriate and sustainable for their conception.
