ERASMUS+ project: Wellness Tourism Skills’ Development (WellTo Skill)

Against the backdrop of growing interest in wellness tourism, the ERASMUS project “Wellness Tourism Skills‘ Development (WellTo Skill)“ was initiated in cooperation with partner institutes from Bulgaria (NAVET), Slovenia (CPI) Slovakia (SIOV) and others.

The project’s term is scheduled for 2 years (October 2018 – October 2020). The consortium leadership is carried out by the Institute for training of personnel in international organizations (ITPIO) from Bulgaria.

Within the project, BIBB advises and supports the development of a joint apprenticeship programme as “Manager Wellness-Tourism” at EQF-Level 5 and the establishment of a network for funding and supporting this apprenticeship. For this purpose, WBL-mentors should be trained to support communication between companies and apprenticeship providers. BIBB is also responsible for internal project quality assurance.

Furthermore, the following elements are part of the project:

  • to provide common quality standards for the implementation of qualifications during school-based and work-based learning;
  • to ensure effective cooperation between VET schools and wellness tourism companies in the planning, organization, provision, recognition and certification of WBL, included when provided in transnational mobility;
  • to create conditions for official acknowledgement of the joint qualification in the partner countries
