BIBB CBS 2022/23 Interims Data Set: Costs of Turnover for Firms

The data set with the DOI Number 10.7803/370.2223.1.7.10 is especially generated to reproduce results from the article “Do firms with works councils prefer agreeable job applicants? A discrete choice experiment” by Harald Pfeifer, Caroline Wehner, Andries de Grip and Julia Kensbock. The article is published in Industrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society and analyses whether recruiters from firms with a works council prefer agreeable job candidates.

The data set is an interims data set of the BIBB-CBS Wave 2022/23, containing a set of 1565 firms. Apart from original and generated firm-level variables, the data set also contains the data of separation costs that are base for Table A1 in the paper. The do-files for reproduction of the results are available upon request.

The data set can be accessed for reproduction of results by external researchers on-site at BIBB, Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 114 – 116, D-53113 Bonn. The data set is not available for general or public research. After an application procedure, data access for non-commercial researchers may be granted by the Research Data Centre of the Federal Institute for Vocational Training and Education (BIBB-FDZ) for the purpose of replicating the results of the article only.
