Cooperation with the South Korean partner institution KRIVET
A cooperation agreement between the South Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET) and BIBB has been in place since September 2000. In March 2024, this arrangement was extended for a further three years until March 2027.
BIBB and KRIVET have been cooperating since the year 2000. The current MoU is valid until March 2027. In the year 2025, the following activities stood out:
- Joint research in the framework of the EU-funded “Skills2Capabilities” project
- Participation in the “Towards a Global TVET Agenda” initiatice
- Conference visit Global HR Forum in Seoul
- Participation in KRIVET publication on VET financing
In addition, BIBB and KRIVET exchange research and work results during delegation visits and research stays.
Further joint thematic focus areas include demographic change and the impact of new technologies on the labour market and society.

Digital transformation of the world of work
The digital transformation of the world of work is being investigated in a project entitled “Occupational tasks and requirements in international comparative terms – analyses of national and international datasets” (2018–2021), which is looking at tasks and workplaces on the basis of employee data.
Dual training as a company strategy for securing a supply of skilled workers
Between 2016 and 2017, BIBB and KRIVET cooperated on the international comparative study “Dual training as a company strategy to secure a supply of skilled workers – case studies on motivation and organisation in internationally comparative terms”.
Patterns of company recruitment and induction processes
From 2012 to 2015, BIBB and KREVET worked together on BIBB’s research project “Patterns of company recruitment and induction processes in selected European countries – INDUCT”.
