Terms of the German VET system
The glossary is a source for terms and definitions which are used in the field of vocational education and training. Emphasis is placed on its usage in the context of the German dual system. The VET Glossary is a work in progress and updated and expanded on an ongoing basis.
The VET Data Report is issued by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and provides a wealth of information and analysis relating to various aspects of the development of vocational education and Training in Germany. As such, it is an important steering and quality assurance instrument within the German vocational training system.
It supplements the Report on Vocational Education and Training published by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) keeps several statistics on the development of the German training place market, e.g.
- the survey of 30 September and the vocational education and training statistic of 31 December that give information about the number of concluded apprenticeship contract
- the survey regarding apprenticeship wages, employment statistics and
- surveys amongst the working population.
The BIBB conducts its own surveys in addition to processing external data. This provides the basis for evaluations and analyses, which then are included in publications such as the annual Data Report.
