Informatik 2023 Workshop
Skills and Qualifications for a Digitalized Future (SKILLS’23)
Aims & Scope
Designing digitalized futures raises several questions for society. On the broadest level legislative and normative questions, on the level of firms questions of investment decisions and how to keep their productivity and their workforces, on the level of individuals questions of qualification and which skills to apply. Thus, skills and qualifications are at the core of designing digitalizes futures. This workshop has two foci: First, it is dedicated to an interdisciplinary perspective on informatics and its connection to society and the labour market: What are future skills and qualifications? Which of them are needed to build a digital and sustainable society and economy? The list of perspectives includes, but is not limited to: Quantitative and qualitative research, data science methods to analyse education and labour market data, AI approaches for recommender systems and digitalized learning. Second, this workshop is dedicated to computational studies within social sciences, economics and humanities, in particular with focus on education, labour market, qualifications, trainings, and adult education. We also welcome submissions focusing on a critical reflection of digital methods in these research areas.
Call for Papers
This workshop addresses interdisciplinary perspective on informatics and its connection to society and the labour market, both with a view towards the application of informatics in other disciplines as well as a view from informatics to these other disciplines. We want to lay particular focus on education, labour market, qualifications, trainings, and adult education. We also welcome submissions of critical reflections of digital methods in these research areas. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Quantitative and qualitative research
- Data science methods to analyse education and labour market data
- Education: Digital methods and systems, e-learning, adult education, etc.
- AI approaches for recommender systems and digitalized learning
- Linking of digital resources, a discussion of data sets, their quality and reliability, combining quantitative and qualitative data, anonymization and data protection.
- We also welcome submissions focusing on a critical reflection of digital methods in labour market research, education and other research areas.
